One of the most important questions of man, if there is finally extraterrestrial life, may be answered by 2026, when the James Webb Space Telescope will be put into operation. The Hubble Space Telescope, which will be launched in October, will be able to detect ammonia around dwarf gas planets after a few orbits. In other words, it has the ability to detect signs of life on other planets in just 60 hours, possibly leading us to one of humanity's most important discoveries.
Ohio State University Caprice Philips and her team have modeled how JWST instruments will respond to different atmospheric conditions and then generate a preference list to use for life search.

The latest tests have shown that the telescope is ready to withstand the deafening noise and intense vibrations of the launch. It is the largest, most powerful, and most complex man-made space telescope ever built. It was designed to help us solve the mysteries of our Solar System, to reveal distant worlds to other stellar systems, and to investigate the structures and origins of the universe.
