Among the images that NASA's Perseverance constantly sends from the surface of Mars, one in particular went viral on social media, as at first glance it looks like a rainbow in the sky of the Red Planet.
This is rather unlikely, since the rainbow on Earth needs sunlight and raindrops to form in the sky, and we all know how dry Mars' delicate atmosphere is.
So what is it about? NASA has not yet given an official answer, but other scientists have been quick to explain. Meteorologists believe that it may be an arc of dust, where instead of raindrops, the reflection is made by icy grains of dust.
Another answer comes from NASA's Mars Program Lisa May, who told Forbes that it is nothing more than a reflection in the lens of the HazCam camera.
